Outdoor Price Finder respects your privacy and aims to handle personal information responsibly and transparently.

Information we may collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect your name and email address, account or business profile information, Community Finds or price-report submissions, partner or verification details, price-alert preferences, technical information such as browser, device and IP address, link interactions, and communications you send to us.

During the soft launch we may also use random browser and session identifiers to count site visits and understand public page views, product searches and product-detail interest. These identifiers are not intended to identify you by name. The soft-launch tracker does not intentionally record precise location and does not include URL query strings in tracked page paths.

How we use information

We may use information to operate and improve the site, provide comparisons, review Community Finds, verify participating businesses, operate partner accounts, send requested alerts or service messages, detect misuse, understand site usage, respond to enquiries and meet legal or security requirements.

We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

OPF members, referrals and marketing preferences

If you join OPF, we may store your name, email address, selected outdoor interests, email-verification status, referral code, referral activity, VIP membership status and your marketing consent preferences. We use this information to operate the member and referral program, provide requested member features, and, where you have opted in, send relevant OPF deals, Earlybird alerts, VIP specials and other promotional messages. You can change your preferences or unsubscribe from promotional email at any time. Service messages such as verification and secure sign-in links may still be sent when needed to operate your membership.

AI and MCP access

Outdoor Price Finder provides a read-only MCP interface that AI services can use to search public OPF product listings and compare published retailer offers. MCP requests may include shopping search terms, a product reference, category or budget supplied by the AI client for the user's request. The MCP tools do not expose member accounts, retailer-admin records, payment data, customer records or private OPF administration data, and they do not place orders or make changes.

The current MCP implementation does not intentionally persist shopping search inputs to the OPF application database. Hosting and security providers may process ordinary network and request metadata as part of operating and protecting the service.

Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate an active account or business relationship, resolve disputes, maintain security, or meet applicable legal and record-keeping obligations. Public MCP shopping search inputs are not intentionally stored in the OPF application database. Users may contact support to request access, correction or deletion where applicable.

Retailer and affiliate links

We may record when users click retailer or affiliate links so we can measure listing usefulness and, where applicable, attribute affiliate commissions.

Sharing information

We may use hosting, database, email, analytics and other technology providers to operate the service. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the service.

Overseas processing

Some technology providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where reasonably practicable, we aim to use reputable providers and understand how they handle personal information.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

Access and correction

You may contact us to request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.

If you have concerns about how your information has been handled, please contact us through the Outdoor Price Finder support or contact channel so we can investigate.
